A Lilac with Serious Flower Power

Looking to add more flower power to your spring landscape? Bloomerang® lilacs delight in spring with an abundance of fragrant flowers, and they’re reblooming, so you’ll be able to enjoy those classic lilac blooms mid-summer through fall as well. Today, I want to tell you about Bloomerang Ballet® lilac (Syringa).

In spring, large clusters of pinky-purple flowers adorn this shrub, and then in mid-summer, another wave of blooms makes an appearance. The fragrant blooms make excellent cut flowers as well. At 3-4’ tall and wide, Bloomerang Ballet® tucks nicely into really any garden.

This lovely lilac is cold hardy to USDA zone 3 and heat tolerant to zone 7. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Bloomerang Ballet® doesn’t require pruning, but if you’d like to prune, do so after the spring bloom. A light trim following the spring bloom can encourage new growth for a better rebloom.
