Blooming in spring and once again from late summer to fall, Bloomerang Showmound lilac charms with bright, white flowers clustered atop healthy green foliage. As a dwarf specimen, its tidy mounded habit makes a great addition to a small, established garden. Its blooms carry a delicious fragrance, welcoming in pollinators for a lively, nature-friendly space.

You won’t, however, need to worry about unwanted grazing. This variety is considered deer and rabbit-resistant, so it should remain untouched and full throughout its extended bloom window.

Suited to USDA zones 3-7, Bloomerang Showmound lilac is easy to care for. It prefers full sun and soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH but can adapt to other types as long as they are well-draining. Reaching 1.5-3′ tall and 2-3′ wide, Bloomerang Showmound lilac does not require pruning. But, if desired, a light trim after the spring bloom can encourage more new growth and a better rebloom.

Bloomerang® Lilacs

In 2010, the original Bloomerang lilac was introduced to great success. Since then, we have continued to develop the series with lilacs that are more abundant and brighter in color. There are four current varieties in the collection, with the newest addition, Bloomerang Showmound, being the first white lilac.

Interested in adding a Bloomerang lilac to your garden? You can’t go wrong with any option, as they all represent the best of the best rebloomers, with excellent color, fragrance, and disease resistance, allowing you to enjoy their beauty without much stress or work.
