Celtic Pride in the landscape.

A Shade-Tolerant, Cold-Hardy Evergreen

(Microbiota decussata), you won’t need it. This extremely hardy evergreen pairs a lush appearance with a no-nonsense attitude for a plant that’ll thrive even in some of the trickiest spaces.

Growing in a natural, low-spreading habit, Celtic Pride Siberian cypress forms a handsome evergreen carpet. For most of the year, its fern-like foliage is an attractive green with a soft, feathery texture. In winter, it transforms, taking on a russet-purple tone. This seasonal shift, along with its uniform growth and resistance to tip die-back, ensures it remains a constant source of interest in the landscape.

Great for gardeners in USDA zones 2 -7, Celtic Pride Siberian cypress is built for the elements. It is very cold-tolerant, displaying rugged durability even in the lowest temperatures of its hardiness range. Known as one of the more shade-tolerant evergreens, it offers great versatility in the landscape. However, if planted in deep shade, it will have a sparser, more open habit and less vivid color. Its resistance to deer helps it flourish unbothered, making it a great low-maintenance, no-fuss groundcover that reaches 1-3′ tall and 4-6′ wide.
