Bright, Bold, and Compact
Brighten up your landscape with Good Vibrations® privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium)! This cheerful, slow-growing variety delivers fabulous foliage in a scaled-down form so you can enjoy a bold burst of color without sacrificing much space.
Good Vibrations® privet is eye-catching with its bold variegated foliage. Speckled with splashes of green and gold, it brings the perfect amount of cheer and brightness to any outdoor space. Its compact size makes it a great fit for landscapes with limited growing room, where it fits in nicely as a border or colorful hedge.
Good Vibrations® privet is suited to USDA zones 6-9. It enjoys full sun to part sun and is not particular about soil. Its slow growth rate makes it a relatively easy plant to care for, with very little pruning needed. At just 3-5′ tall and 2.5-4′ wide, it grows to half the size of a normal privet. Its durability helps it perform well in unfavorable conditions, displaying good drought tolerance and deer resistance.
Do note that in over ten years of trialing, we have never seen this shrub flower, so no worries about the invasiveness associated with conventional privet.
