Same Beauty in Half the Size

With beauty beyond compare, Jolene Jolene® Beautybush (Kolkwitzia amabilis) could very well have been the inspiration behind Dolly Parton’s famous country song. But you can rest easy knowing this classic shrub won’t be trying to steal your partner’s heart, just the spotlight in your garden!

Called beautybush for good reason, Jolene Jolene® delivers the same stunning floral show expected of Kolkwitzia but grows to only half the typical size, making it much more adaptable to modern landscapes.

When in bloom, Jolene Jolene® beautybush is truly captivating! Its cascading branches are covered in abundant star-shaped pink and yellow flowers, creating a fun fountain-like effect. The healthy green foliage offers a lovely complement to the blooms, which are busy attracting and supporting pollinators throughout the season.

A Space-Saving Habit

Jolene Jolene® beautybush refreshes the look of a classic Kolkwitzia with a growth habit that is half the size. While most older varieties could grow up to 10′ tall and wide, this shrub lands between 3-6′ tall and 4-6′ wide. Its smaller size allows it to fit comfortably into many residential landscapes and gardens, working well as a border, flowering hedge, or specimen plant.

Suited to USDA zones 4-8, Jolene Jolene® beautybush is very adaptable and carefree. It prefers full to part sun and grows well in most soil types with good drainage. Do be mindful of overwatering, as it does not respond well to extended sogginess. Jolene Jolene® beautybush has an arching habit that looks best if left to grow naturally. However, you can give it a rejuvenation prune every 3-5 years to help it maintain its flowering performance.
