A Flower for Fall
With school back in session and the transition in stores from swimsuits to sweaters, it is hard not to look ahead to the fast-approaching fall season. And while some of you may be ready for cooler weather, for others, it might have you worrying about the state of your garden. Well, this fall you can add an unexpected pop with Just Chill® Double White camellia (Camellia x). Flowering from mid-fall to winter, Just Chill Double White camellia has stark, white blooms with wide petals and soft, golden centers. Its shiny evergreen foliage is striking in its own right, and contrasts beautifully with the bright flowers. This classic-looking shrub works great as a hedge or specimen plant, and its foliage is a wonderful addition to a floral arrangement.
Just Chill Double White camellia performs best in USDA zones 6b-9. It displays an improved level of cold hardiness, making it a standout once a chill enters the air. If you do live at the colder end of the hardiness range, we would recommend planting it in the spring so that it has time to become established before cold weather arrives. This variety grows well in full to part sun and enjoys moist, fertile soil that is acidic. Pruning is rarely needed; however, you can remove dead wood in the spring. If you’d like to shape it, do so in late winter/early spring once it has finished flowering.

Maturing to a height of 5-8′ and a width of 3-5′, Just Chill Double White camellia grows in a useful mid-size habit. Its medium size can help bring balance to a space while adding structure and definition to the area.
