Plant of the Week: OSO EASY RED STRIPE® Rose

One-of-a-Kind Blooms

Growing up, you may have heard the saying, “No two snowflakes are alike,” a notion that is particularly top of mind given the unending snowfall we’ve been experiencing these past two weeks. Well, today I am excited to discuss a plant that embodies this same sense of individuality. Oso Easy Red Stripe® rose (Rosa) is a gorgeous addition to the landscape, with a color combination that produces one-of-a-kind blooms for a dynamic and unforgettable summer display.

Each flower on Oso Easy Red Stripe is its own work of art. The red, pink, and white hues swirl together, creating unique patterns that guarantee no two blooms look the same. Its glossy, green foliage has excellent disease resistance, which, when paired with its summer rebloom, promises a lush and full appearance throughout its entire growing season.

Oso Easy Red Stripe rose has outstanding hardiness, thriving in USDA zones 4-9. It flourishes in areas of full sun and prefers moist, well-draining soil that is slightly acidic. Growing to a height and width of 3 to 4.5 feet, it is a great fit for mixed borders, mass plantings, and cottage gardens. Its beautifully patterned blooms also make a wonderful cut flower, bringing a detailed touch of interest to a vase. Pruning is recommended in early spring, and it will bloom continuously during the summer without any deadheading.
