A Blanket of Blooms
Blanket your garden in gorgeous pink blooms with Perfecto Mundo Pink Carpet® azalea (Rhododendron x)! Part of the Perfecto Mundo Carpet™ series, this lovely variety grows in a tidy, ground-hugging habit, bringing both function and fashion to the landscape. Great for keeping weeds in check and stabilizing soil, Perfecto Mundo Pink Carpet azalea also delivers irresistible color for you to enjoy throughout the year.
As a reblooming variety, Perfecto Mundo Pink Carpet azalea first appears in spring, followed by a second showing from mid-summer to fall. When in bloom, it creates a dazzling display of multi-hued pale pink flowers that appear in abundance atop shiny evergreen foliage. Growing to a height of 1-2′ and a spread of 2-2.5′, it is a perfect way to bring interest to the landscape as an exciting ground cover.
Perfecto Mundo Pink Carpet azalea is best suited to USDA zones 6b-9. It enjoys both part-sun to full sun, along with acidic soil that is moist but not soggy. In its second year, you can apply an all-purpose flowering shrub fertilizer in late winter/early spring and in late May/early June to help maintain a healthy bloom. Pruning is not generally needed, but you can give it a trim right after its spring show for a more abundant rebloom.
