A Shrub with Flower Power

Summer blooms have a magical way of transforming a garden, filling it with vibrant colors and stunning contrasts. One standout performer is ‘Miss Ruby’ Butterfly Bush (Buddleia), a garden favorite that dazzles all summer long with long-lasting flowers that keep gardeners and pollinators coming back for more!

Effortlessly eye-catching, ‘Miss Ruby’ butterfly bush features bright pinkish-purple blooms that pop against its lush green foliage. At 4-5′ tall and wide, it is a great choice for borders, cottage gardens, foundations, and pollinator patches. And, as part of the non-invasive ‘Miss’ series, you won’t have to worry about it spreading uncontrollably throughout your garden.

Suited to USDA zones 5-9, ‘Miss Ruby’ butterfly bush needs full sun and well-draining soil. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant. To keep your plant healthy and blooming beautifully, prune it in early spring. It is important to note that butterfly bushes are one of the last plants to emerge in the spring, usually appearing once temperatures have become consistently warm.
