Sunshine, Funshine®
Do you need some long-lasting color in your garden? Are you looking for a plant that really shines spring through fall in any spot in your landscape? Funshine® Abelia (Abelia × grandiflora) may be just the shrub you’re searching for.

This adorable shrub boasts vibrant orange and caramel new growth that matures to a lovely yellow and then chartreuse. Its foliage is glossy, colorful, and it’s semi-evergreen. In summer, fragrant bell-shaped lavender blooms join the color show, attracting hummingbirds and butterflies.
Growing to 2-3’ tall and wide, this little beauty is perfect for low hedging, edging, or mass plantings. Funshine® abelia is cold hardy to USDA zone 6 and heat tolerant to USDA zone 9. It thrives in full to part sun, but it can be planted in full shade as well. Just keep in mind that the colors may not be as vibrant, and blooms will be limited in shadier spots. This easy-care shrub is also deer-resistant!
Funshine® abelia keeps its neat rounded habit naturally, so little pruning is required. It blooms on new wood in summer, so if you choose to do any shaping, do so in late winter/early spring.
