Plant of the Week: NORTH POLE® Arborvitae

Ghaaaaa! It’s almost here! Christmas Eve! Soon Santa will be filling up his sleigh and heading out from the North Pole to chimneys across the globe.

Wait…did someone say North Pole? We’ve got a shrub for that!

North Pole® arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) is a beautiful, fast-growing evergreen that will add color and definition to your outdoor spaces all year. Plus, you don’t need a football-field-sized estate to grow them! At just 3-5′ wide, even folks with smaller yards can enjoy the many uses North Pole® brings to the landscape.

And at 10-15′ tall, you get nice height without having to worry that Santa’s sleigh will nip off the tip when it’s coming in for a landing on your rooftop.

North Pole® arborvitae is a space-saving conifer that can be used as a distinctive specimen, in sculptural groups, as a narrow hedge or paired for a touch of formality at entryways.

This native arborvitae is very hardy (down to USDA zone 3) and adaptable to various soils and conditions. Plus, it can be sited in part-shade, to full sun.

North Pole® Thuja is definitely something you should add to your wish list. No matter what your wishes are, I hope they come true and you enjoy a safe and healthy holiday.

Are you ready for 2022?

In the nursery industry, January is known for one thing – trade shows! The big one, MANTS, is January 5-7. If you’re headed to Baltimore, be sure to stop and visit our sales team in Booth 1038 to see what will be new at retail in 2023!

If you’re coming to MANTS for garden communicator purposes, I hope I’ll see you in the lobby of the Royal Sonesta hotel Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. There will also be a new products session in the media room on Thursday morning. I’ll be there, too! I hope we can connect there, if not, then sometime in 2022.
