Here’s a beautiful new rose to add to your 2022 garden: Suñorita®. This isn’t a red rose for your sweetie on Valentine’s Day; it’s a spicy mélange of yellow and orange to keep your significant other smiling all summer long.

Yes, Suñorita® flowers from spring up until frost. Along the way, it maintains nice clean green foliage since it’s quite disease resistant.
Suñorita® rose grows 3-4′ tall and wide, so it’s a good choice for a foundation planting or even a hedge.
Like all roses, it will do best in full sun. It’s hardy in USDA 5-9, so most of us in North America can enjoy it.
Fun fact: Suñorita® was bred by Chris Warner of the UK, who also developed such favorites as Rosa Oso Easy Italian Ice®, Ringo®, and Oso Easy® Urban Legend®.
Suñorita® Rosa Wins ARS Award!
We knew this was a special plant when we designated it our Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Rose of the Year; now we know that the American Rose Society likes it, too!
After being evaluated at test gardens around the country, the ARS awarded this beauty with its 2022 Award of Excellence. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
This month finishes big for the trade industry, with the GLTE show in Lansing, MI, and the Indiana Green Expo in Indianapolis, both Jan. 24-26. Personally, I already have three talks lined up in March for rose societies across the country. Three are virtual, which makes the “across the country” a much easier sell, and one is in Homewood, IL. I need to sit down and spend some quality time with my PowerPoint program, but I’m looking forward to it.
